Bridgeport Biodiesel and its parent company Tri-State Biodiesel believe in working with public officials to help lay the groundwork for a sustainable energy future.
The City of Bridgeport and Mayor Finch have been incredibly supportive of Bridgeport Biodiesel’s re-opening and expansion, since it aligns so well with the City’s jobs, justice and sustainability goals. The city regularly highlights Bridgeport Biodiesel as one of the anchor tenants of its innovative eco industrial park in the west end. Bridgeport Biodiesel, for its part, is working hard to be a good neighbor and provide local jobs and environmental benefits to Bridgeport and the surrounding communities.
Recently, Gina McCrthy, the former head of Connecticut’s Department of Eenergy and Environmental Protection, and now the Chief Administrator of the federal Environmental Protection Agency, came to visit the industrial park. While there, she met with the tenants, including Bridgeport Biodiesel’s CEO, Brent Baker.
